My fourth and fifth grade students are wanting to participate in the county wide Battle of the Books competition this coming spring. The Battle of the Books is a Jeopardy style game. Students are in teams of 4 and answer comprehension questions about the 8 different titles. In order to be successful we need multiple copies of 8 different titles. My school's limited budget is unable to purchase enough copies of the books. Before the Battle of the Books, students will read the titles and meet with me through the school year to discuss the books. In the spring we will have a school battle to determine which 4 person team will represent our school in the Regional Battle. My hope is that the Battle of the Books will challenge my students and they will become better readers.
