My kindergarten and first grade students need creative ways to explore what they are learning about in school. These children have so much potential to learn but need curriculum presented in a way that will stimulate their brains in engaging and motivating ways.
A light table would help my students expand their learning in math, literacy, and social/emotional learning. Students could use clear letters to spell their names, learn the alphabet, and learn sight words. Students could use the light table during math to count objects, build their number sense and explore addition and subtraction. The sensory materials for the light table will promote exploration and a calming experience for students who struggle to regulate their emotions at school as well.
