I want to create a safe and welcoming space for students who need support academically, socially, emotionally and in college and career preparation. Having an area with a rug, some bean bags and tools to explore issues, like anger management and drama is important for students to see and know that my office is a safe place. Creating an office space that is judgement free, open, and warm, is my ultimate goal. I want to keep improving my practice, both in the physical space that I can create in my office, and also in the tools that I use. Having more workbooks and curriculum to implement in small groups, individual counseling, and classroom lessons will help build a comprehensive school counseling program that is beneficial to all students at my school.
