The bookshelf I have requested will help my students to better view and "shop for" the books we currently have available in our leveled classroom library. My students love to be read to and love to read themselves. With these new materials, my students will be able to view our books more readily and choose books at their independent reading levels to enjoy, while also improving their reading skills. The bookshelf and book totes will help to spark and inspire my students’ desire to read independently in the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. It would be wonderful to have the students be able to hold onto their chosen books in their book totes without having to worry about damaging them in their desks or losing them. This project will help to enrich their minds and curiosity through printed text, which is sometimes pushed aside with the ever increasing levels of technology available to them.
