My Kindies are so excited to learn! They absolutely love to write. It would be a wonderful extension of their learning to be able to publish their writing on the computer. Students would be allowed to type their own stories, print, and illustrate them. Having typed stories makes little kids feel like real authors. We would be able to create class books with a page published by each student. These books will be available in our classroom library. The students would be able to read real books that they created. How amazing would it feel to be a published author in Kindergarten? Well that is the feeling my students will have if we have a computer to publish their writing. It is imperative to give young students the gift of loving writing and treating them like real authors will do just that.
