This supplemental classroom library project was created after bringing in books from our public library to see what inspired my students to love reading. Initially, series books such as Captain Underpants, and Dork Diaries made my classically trained literature teaching foundations cringe at first, but seeing my students truly captivated in reading has made me a believer in the engaging abilities of these trendy titles. To hear my students complain about having to STOP reading was music to my ears. Additionally, these text are not only interesting, they are at their reading level. Having text that are just right are key reading success. Please support us in getting this books in our classroom permanently!

About my class
