Small group instruction is part of our daily activity in my classroom, especially during guided reading. I group my students according to their learning style or academic level, and I meet with them as a small group to work closer with them. Working in a small group allows me to individualize my instruction to best fit the needs of my students and give them instant feedback. I have also found that my students feel most comfortable in participating and asking questions when they do not understand. At this time, we meet for small group at students’ desk. It is not very comfortable for the students and myself. I would like to have a designated quiet area in our classroom with a table that can accommodate a small group of 4-6 students. By having a kidney table, students will be able to be more comfortable and focus on increasing their learning!
By donating to our project, you will not only help me improve student participation during small group instruction, you will also help them grow their academic achievement.
Students will be able to come to a designated area where they can feel safe and successful when learning at their instructional level.
