I have some shopping items (cereal boxes, empty canned foods, milk cartons, etc.)in my classroom. My students LOVE to play "Store" when they have free time. They would rather pretend they are store clerks or shoppers than play board games or computers. Surprisingly, the boys like playing as much as the girls do. I had a cash register, but it doesn't work any more. I tried to fix it, but no luck! I don't have many fruits or vegetables and no meat products or shopping baskets. The students would be so happy if they could have a new one that works, along with the various shopping items.
