All kindergarten students don’t come to school with the same prior knowledge and experience. Very few of my students have been in preschool. Most of their parents are working hard to make ends meet and provide for their families. Not all of my students have access to technology at home. After evaluating each of my students individually I can see what areas they are lacking in and what additional skills they need to learn. I then group and work with students daily on these needed skills. While working directly with one small group of students another group of students could be using these tablets on their needed skills. I could gear the tablets to help meet different individual needs. Kindergarteners love the excitement of educational games and don’t realize they are learning and working while using them. I do not have a teacher’s aide in my classroom, so having these tablets could also help these very young students stay engaged and on task while I am working with other students. The fun games on these tablets will be used to increase student literacy and math skills.
