Sand and water play is a daily interest center available to the children in my classroom. Having a 4 station table allows for individual children to make decisions as to which materials they will play with. In addition to sand and water children can explore things like slime, mud, water beads, nature items, shredded paper, shaving cream. Being able to compare and contrast materials can spur scientific thinking prompting children to naturally question the state of each material.
This table also allows for a variety of children to be able to access play with sand, water and more with adjustable legs on the table.
