My new (to me) classroom doesn't have a rug! This is the most important space in a classroom. Every kindergarten room needs a rug for students to gather together. Not only are whole group lessons taught here, but this is where students are welcomed daily with love, share their stories with one another, and have a feeling of warmth and safety with their classroom family. They fall in love with storybooks, learn the importance of a ten frame and discover that writing is something that they can do! The comfort of having your own spot on the classroom rug is the first step to success!
