Peace corners can help students without the school counselor physically being there, as well as the teacher not having to take time out of the lesson to handle a situation. These corners will consist of a bean bag chair, a sand timer, some fidgets or coloring books, and a form to fill out at the end of the sand timer (5 minutes).
Students will recognize that they need a break or to calm down, and can go to this corner with the expectation that they will not be disturbed so they can collect themselves and be ready to learn again.
