Every year my Forensics classes look forward to a frog dissection. The dissections take place after we complete the unit on autopsy and death. Students apply their newly learned information to conduct an autopsy on the frog, write up an official autopsy sketch and report both internal and external. Then, they create a cause of death for the frog based on their findings. This project ties biology, physiology, and forensic sciences together in a high-interest, hands-on experience.
My students always look forward to determining how Jane frog died and presenting their findings to the class.
