I'd like to offer my students flexible seating options to make them more comfortable so that they can work to their full potential.
Students work best when they are comfortable and excited to learn. Many teachers in my school and district have had huge success with flexible seating. I, too, have seen the positive results. In my classroom, the students have three very worn-out and loved bean bag chairs. The students get to sit in the chairs when they "cash in" their class tickets and this is always such a big hit. I'd like to offer this next year to all of my students and not just for using their reward tickets. I'd like all of my students to feel more comfortable and have more choices when it comes to their learning.
With my new flexible seating students will have the ability to move around, take their cushions or seats with them, and share with one another. They will have that "homey-feel" while being at school, which would help make their last year in elementary school even more enjoyable.
