We would like to supply our classroom with fun and exciting materials for our science center that will enrich our classroom. Specifically, we are looking to increase materials that help children learn about growth cycles and the environment. Additionally, we want to help them experience their senses in new ways with objects to bring attention to texture, to move around and to discuss sounds, sizes, etc. To further continue exploring the senses, we would like to provide more materials for our sensory table. This not only includes materials for water play, but also new supplies for children to touch and manipulate (ex: growing magic water marbles, sensory snow, etc.) Sensory materials and experiences can be wonderfully engaging and calming to students. Amazing learning can take place when intriguing materials and proper space are provided. Furthermore, we plan to use these items in the room, but we will also be sending home take-home engagement bags to encourage families to discover together. This will increase the bond that our students and their families have, while also providing new memories and smiles to be shared with one another. By providing our children with materials that relate to the real world, it will help to increase their desire to explore the world as they grow, as well as make them more aware of their environment. This helps to lay a foundation to think more and problem solve. Not only that, but it exposes children to a new door of possibilities that are yet to be discovered.
