These materials will support students in their social emotional learning, financial literacy, organizational skills, and communication skills. As a part of our Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports and Junior Achievement, students will use behavior tracking "bank books" to track and spend their points on items. Each day, teachers will give students points for being overall respectful, responsible, and safe. Every week, if students met the minimum requirements for points, they will be able to go to the school store and purchase an item with their points. This will teach students to keep track of their money in a bank account. As they earn money, they can choose how they spend their points. They will learn how to manage their points by spending or saving just like they should know how to spend their money or save it. This will also help encourage positive behaviors as they will see what areas (respect, responsibility, or safety) need to be improved.
Select students will take leadership roles in managing a school store. They will help with check out, stocking, and organization.
We need these materials to have as supplies for our store. The various school supplies and entertainment items are for students to have options in our store when they shop for their positive behaviors. The calculators are for students to calculate their points and manage the school store. We want to be able to provide more items for our students to choose from and take responsibility for their materials. The color pencils, gel pens, pencil cases, basketballs, footballs, bags, activities, and other materials will give students choices about what they can choose to spend their points on.
The goal of this project to help fund a behavior management system that benefits students social/emotional learning and financial literacy.
