Students will be working with a local business that will donate the eggs for hatching. Throughout the hatching process, students will utilize math and science subject areas through hands-on learning. This learning process will teach students skills such as the life cycle and how it relates to all living creatures, reading a thermometer, temperature in relation to evaporation (humidity), the scientific method and questioning, and personal responsibility and accountability. Students will monitor and track data through the 21 day chicken hatching and/or the 28 day duck hatching process. They will also be engaging their reading and writing skills as they research and write about the process and document any questions that may arise.
As you can see my class needs an Egg Incubator.
