The library reaches every one of our school's 400 students through formal weekly classroom visits, impromptu casual check-ins and lunchtime free periods. Library is a time of free choice and empowerment when students can connect with subjects or formats that spark their interests.
Graphic novels and silly, new fiction fly from the shelves and I want to harness that momentum! For this project, I have chosen 10 nonfiction science comic books, 5 silly picture books with math and history themes, 3 chapter books from a new series featuring young female coders, 3 books to complete a popular coding comic book series that comes with inspiration on projects students can do themselves and 3 books with math games for children and families to giggle with and explore.
Students will expand and deepen their knowledge of science and history while devouring literary formats they love!
