With a new and safe kitchen unit, children can practice their cooking skills, and use literacy and math to read and create recipies. With storage they can learn how to organize dress up clothes. A new and colorful table and set of chairs will add comfort and color to the dramatic play center.
Children often learn best when they are playing. They are able to take academic, social, and emotional skills they have learned throughout the day and apply them when playing in centers.
I am fortunate to have an existing dramatic play center already; however, the furniture has become loose and unstable over the years. New furniture for my dramatic play center is necessary in order for children to play and learn safely.
