Sixth graders in our district are placed in a middle school setting and, for the first time, have science daily. Their hands on experience has been limited in this subject up to this point. These students come eager to DO science, and we aim to please! By stressing curiosity, problem solving, inquiry and collaboration, we begin to develop these budding scientists! Students work together to design their own experiments, collect, organize and analyze data, and perform numerous hands on experiments. They love to learn by DOING, and their enthusiasm for science is contagious! Whether they are creating their own pitching machine using a leaf blower or taste testing chocolate chips students are engaged in the process of science!
