New gator balls will allow my students the opportunity to practice their throwing, catching, kicking, and reflex skills.
Students typically enjoy a game we call "The Trash Game." To play this, I set up gym mats in a standing square, and split the class in half. Half of the class, the first team, goes in the square, and the other half, the second team, stays out of the square, in the rest of the gym. I then put out as many gator balls as I have (which these days isn't very many!) The object of the game is to be the first team to get all of the gator balls out of their area. With a lack of gator balls, this game loses it's fun and challenge factor as it doesn't take long to get rid of them all when there aren't many to get rid of!
