My students spend more time in the classroom than at home during the school year. Therefore, it is their home away from home, so I want them to be able to learn in comfort. As of now, my students choose to sit on the floor with a white board, or at a different table, but the options to use cushions, stools and other flexible seating choices would allow them to get cozy and cultivate their critical thinking and creativity!
CHOICE is a huge factor in keeping kids engaged in an activity. Where they are sitting, and what they are sitting on is a key part of engagement. When my students have a choice on who they are sitting by. and where in the room they are sitting, they work harder, and achieve more! We spend less time redirecting disruptive behaviors, and more time learning!
