My students spend the majority of their school day engaged in free choice center activities. One of the most popular centers in the classroom is the art center. For many, this class is their first exposure to many of the art materials. The students love experiencing painting at the easel or creating a beautiful collage with sequins and feathers and foam pieces.
In the art center, students get to explore and create their masterpieces with various art media, including crayons, markers, paint and collage materials. Because it is one of the most popular centers, and many of the materials are consumable, the materials are used up quickly. This grant request will help us to resupply many of the students' favorite items, such as tempera paint and collage items, and introduce them to new items that they haven't experienced yet, such as Dot Art Painters and Wikki sticks.
