3D printing allows students to apply mathematics and create a tangible product that students can hold and show. By designing a functional form students are able to take ownership of their learning and develop a more fundamental understanding of the relation between structure and function.
Students will be tasked with identifying problems or inefficiencies then, designing and creating 3D printed solutions. (ex: a door stop that fits under a very narrow doorway, a stronger more permanent hinge to hang bathroom passes from etc.) We will also be using this 3D printer to produce parts to attach to our self-made Arduino robots.
