This project will be the first piece in creating a classroom library for my students. My students love to read and need a place to store the books and feel comfortable when they read. The Furn bookcase will be that place where my students will be able to find books they will enjoy reading. Reading is an important part of our daily schedule. We will use the books for guided reading and independent reading. It is really important that we have a place for students to go and get books that they can read.
This project will help teach my students about organization. Our current books are not organized. Through this project, the furn bookcase will allow my students to be able to learn how to organize books by their levels and whether they are fiction or nonfiction. Organizing is an important skill that my students will be able to learn that can help them better understand the types of books that they read. My students will then be able to go to the Furn Bookcase and find a book by genre and reading level. The Furn Bookcase will serve multiple purposes in our classroom library.
