I have noticed in my classroom that students work harder when they are allowed to move around the room and have seating options. This could range from sitting in the floor, using a pillow, writing at lap desks, using clipboards, or standing at their desks. Students are typically more engaged when they are comfortable.
When a student gets a choice to choose where they work they feel secure which allows them to be connected to their work and they tend to give more effort due to better focus.
I have chose products that will enhance the seating options my students currently have. With these new items all students will be able to feel more engaged and benefit from them. Having access to flexible seating options allows students to collaborate easily, work on sharing skills (taking turns), lets students have choices they feel in control of, and improves comfort level. Flexible options are also beneficial for sensory input which helps students with focus and processing information.
