I work hard to make my classroom an engaging and emotionally safe place for my students to be. I believe strongly in the power of relationships and feel they are the foundation to academic success. My students are diverse in their life experiences. Many have faced challenges in their home lives that carry over into the school setting. My belief that all students can learn regardless of their background drives me to be the best I can for them. In order to keep students engaged it's important that I meet them at their level and creatively integrate the standards into learning experiences that are meaningful and contextual to them. I am constantly assessing my practice to ensure that I am giving my students all opportunities that are available to them. I want my students to be able to discover their varying passions and be able to identify and advocate for their own learning styles as they go through school.
