STEM activites, board games, and card games help students problem solve, use logic, and develop teamwork. Games like Scattergories and Scrabble build vocabulary and reading skills; games like Battleship, checkers, and Dutch Blitz require strategy and planning. Puzzles encourage teamwork, while they relax students, and require patience and focus. I want students to build their skills while having fun! My goal is to make the library the heart of the school and a place where students go to explore, interact with each other and the resources there, and feel welcome and included. I want to appeal not only to the students that love to read, but also to the students that don't! The library should be a welcoming place for all students, and help immerse students in literacy, growth, and learning, with or without the use of books.
