100% of the students on this campus use a school owned instrument. The instruments are not in the best condition and the strings on the instrument have been used way past their prime.
There are 100 students enrolled in the orchestra program, and to replace each string on every instrument (4 strings per instrument) would cost between $120-$500 per instrument.
We are focusing on getting 1 string for every Violin and Viola student (appox. 50 students).
Replacing the strings will give their instruments a clearer tone, which will not only help with the students' confidence, but will help them project more, and do well performing in competitions.
