"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." -Benjamin Franklin
It is essential that my students have the opportunity to be involved not only in their school community, but to acknowledge positive behavior and student achievement as well as promote school spirit.
The "Wonderful Warrior" store has been a successful school-wide positive behavior intervention system (PBIS) in my school for years. This year, however, we decided to revamp it and have a "change in management", so to speak. By running the Warrior store, my students have opportunities to interact with peers and practice academic, social, and pre-vocational skills (keeping inventory, organization, money management, etc.) in a real-world environment through hands-on experiences. Last semester, we amped up the school pride by painting a mascot mural on the walls and getting everything organized and cleaned. This next year, we would like to start off strong with a stocked store ready to support our students' positive behaviors and good deeds.
Our families, staff, and community have helped our store stock up on school supplies and books, but we need your help to provide our students with additional items (e.g. chips, candy, fidgets, etc.) to help us motivate our Warriors to engage in positive behaviors and reward those who do so. Thanks so much!
