In a District where money is tight and budgets are slashed, instruments do not get the care that they deserve. The students can't always afford to get new strings for their instruments and budgets don't allow teachers to have all the materials they require to replace every broken string.
The rosin and strings will help keep our old instruments running long enough until we can buy new ones. These students have to trade instruments and cannibalize other instruments to keep the classes going. When the students have unstable home lives, they deserve a little stability from their school and in their music classroom.
