The children need to have access to musical instruments in order to explore a variety of rhythms and beats. We have a limited number and variety of instruments at this time.
According to my district's preschool curriculum, children are expected to express and represent what they observe, think, imagine and feel through music. By providing musical instruments such as: tambourines, maracas, hand bells, sand blocks, bongo drums, finger cymbals and rhythm sticks, children will be able to explore a variety of instruments in order to accomplish this goal. The children will enjoy exploring various instruments and will be able to use these in order to express themselves musically.
