Being able to tell a story is particularly important for young school age children because oral narratives are associated with academic achievement. Research repeatedly shows that narrative competence by age five is highly predictive of future reading comprehension.
I'm so excited to use these storytelling kits to help facilitate oral narratives and language development in my students.
These kits will not only be motivating for my students but will provide a visual to help them sequence and recall details.
They are going to absolutely love bringing these exciting stories to life with the puppets, magnets, and the manipulatives that are included!
