My high school students come from a background of academic failures and most are behind the State averages for English/Language Arts and mathematics standardized testing. I strive for hands-on, minds-on, relevant experiences in all of my classes. In my Earth Science classes, I try to provide real world experiments so that the students can make the connections between science and the world around them. In my science research class, students work on independent, in-depth scientific problems. Most of these students struggle in the traditional classroom, but still want to learn, graduate high school and attend college or some sort of post secondary school. I work to build positive self-esteem and life-long learners.
