My students live in a socioeconomically disadvantaged area. Resources at home and school are extremely limited. All of my students are two or more grade levels below where they should be. My students are not exposed to enough text. The ability to read opens doors to endless educational opportunities. I want to inspire students to cherish their love for reading by exposing them to authentic fictional and nonfictional books. This will open their young minds to endless higher education and career fields. You would be in a position to help sculpt our future generations and instill a love for reading and knowledge. Children who love to read do better in school and have higher success rates in the future.

About my class
