My students spend an hour a day utilizing structured play centers. Because my classroom has limited space, I need to find a way to contain some of these play centers. My Lego center consists of some tubs and the floor, and my students struggle to build without stepping on their creations. The Lego table would help students build as a group while keeping the play in a relatively small area. The table would be just the right height for them to stand or kneel as they play, which would be perfect for busy 5 year-olds!
Scholastic's Let's Find Out magazines would be a wonderful way to bring seasonal social studies and science themes into my classroom. The emergent texts and age appropriate learning activities fill an important gap in my curriculum.
I am a new teacher with limited funds, but I don't want that to affect my students. These two items would have a positive affect on each of my students, every day.
