Group work is one of the most important aspects of my classroom on a daily basis. My students are encouraged through rigorous, content-driven tasks to hone in on their communication skills, soft skills, and abilities to work with others. These are all important parts of their education, and all of these needs can be met at once with these amazing flower top tables. The days of the "smartest" people getting the best jobs are over, and our society is on to hiring the people who can work well others, be problem solvers, and communicate effectively. In addition to all of these opportunities being offered through access to these tables in our classrooms, there is also the fact that these tables have dry erase tops. This will allow my students to practice trial and error, explore things they are unsure about, and challenge themselves in new ways. There is no risk to any of these things, because a simple swipe of the finger will erase the mistake or miscalculation and allow them to try again! I want my students to have these tables in our everyday classroom for the main purpose of group work. They will provide the perfect set up for group projects, STEM activities, and math station rotations. The possibilities are endless with peer tutoring and discussion opportunities. I know that these flower top tables in my classroom will make us more successful and able to thrive!
