Students that have their emotional well being addressed will increase their chances of making progress in the classroom and in unstructured settings in school. Due to media and an increased use of technology, students are aware of many types of events and there is a need to discuss questions and thoughts. A play sand therapy station will allow students to communicate and discuss what they are experiencing and feeling. Having a peace corner (bean bag chairs, stress balls, etc.) in the school counselor's office will provide students a space to re-focus and gather themselves so that they can return to class ready to work.
