I chose some of the most basic yet important things that my students need to have a successful school year. Books about empathy will help my students develop compassion for their classmates and teach them how we should treat each other each and every day. These books read aloud will be a perfect way to instill kindness and compassion in their little minds and help to make my classroom a safe and loving environment.
Privacy folders give my students a quiet space to take their tests and minimize the anxious feeling of seeing the person next to you on the last question when you may still be on the first. Headphones are so important in my classroom because my students have the use of one-to-one iPads. These iPads can be such an amazing resource, but without headphones they becoming nothing more than a distraction, especially during guided reading time.
Lastly, book bins will help me keep my classroom library neat and organized by genre throughout the year so that my students will be able to find the books they are most interested in with ease. All of these supplies will make such an immense difference for not only my students but for my classroom environment. My students and I appreciate your generous donations more than we could ever express!
