The non-fiction readers in this project allow students to experience visually appealing illustrations and text to make the connections necessary when they lack the schema to understand.
Many times students from Title I schools do not have the life experiences that allow them to connect to a text when reading. Thus, making it difficult to understand.
The Boxcar Children readers will allow my students to have fun and build stamina when reading.
Workstations assist the students in completing graphic organizers and summarizing key points in their reading. The EXPO Markers will be utilized in these workstations when completing group work.
