Flexible seating allows for students to choose from a variety of different seating options available within the classroom. This allows for students to exercise their ability to make choices, and have some control over their physical learning environment.
Currently my students can choose to work in a variety of locations in our classroom such as sitting in traditional chairs or standing at tables, lounging on the library carpet, or moving youth sized beach chairs to different areas of the room. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating. The positive academic and physical benefits include increased motivation, engagement and performance as well as increased oxygen flow to the brain and improved behavior.
The products that I have selected for my first ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ project would make a major difference in my students' learning. Being able to start the 2018-2019 school year with these brightly colored, fun and lightweight seating resources would be extremely beneficial. Creating a classroom environment where my students feel comfortable, and have have the ability to make important choices will ultimately cultivate an environment where the love of learning can continue to grow.
