Since our school district has re-opened in AZ, several safety protocols must be followed during recess. Students are to remain spaced apart, they cannot share equipment, and they are not allowed to use the play structures yet.
Because of the safety protocols during recess, many kids are not getting the 60 minutes of daily activity recommended by the CDC. Playground safety rules and limited equipment during recess has made obtaining 60 minutes of activity extremely difficult
Cones will be used for multiple functions:
1. Keep students spaced apart for safety when engaging in recess games
2. Different colored cones will be used to distinguish different game/play zones.
Furthermore, engaging in activity during recess will help students release extra energy and will help them to focus better in the classroom.
