The students in my class are extremely awesome & are filled with personality, energy, and the potential to learn. My students have not had the experiences that other children have had. 100% of my class qualifies for free lunch. To say the least, they have not had many opportunities for development. However, my students come to school with such excitement to learn new things! They will sit all day long and listen to stories if they could. Kindergarten is a magical time for them to escape into a brand new world that they have never been exposed to - a world of language that they are newly discovering. I know that my students rarely, if ever, sit down at home with a parent to read books. My students also love to practice what they learn by doing activities independently. They get so excited when they can do something they have never tried before - like put a puzzle together by themselves and yell, "Look Ms. G.!" :)
