Many of my students do not have a strong foundation in reading at home. My goal with these book bins is to encourage the love of reading by allowing each student to fill their bin with books that are not only on their level but that they are interested in to use at school to engage them in learning and growing in literature. They will be working on mastering each book in their bin, and building reading fluency.
I will use the chart to help students interact during whole group lessons that they may write in response to their thinking. We love to write our ideas to help with our writing and this writing center will provide easy access to all students as they work. It will also provide new areas to work in during centers to provide students time to work with each other, and to stay on task!
