In Animal Science classes students learn about the different body systems. Students also learn a vast amount by hands-on learning. This is a science credit equivalent class where students can earn science and technical college credit. They will connect this to other body systems and eventually be able to identify problems and or diseases that can affect animals. I am requesting ten Biology Dissecting Kits, twenty Sheep Hearts and some Aluminum Pans for dissection.
This project will allow my students to see and explore a real heart and examine how it works. In many classes students do not have the opportunity to see and explore real specimens and this will give them a chance to do just that. Hopefully this will push them to learn about why an animal might be sick.
