My fifth grade classroom is full of hardworking, inquisitive students. The way their eyes light up when they grasp a new concept or the delight they show when learning a unique fact is why I come back every day.
Pleasant Grove Elementary is a small, rural country school of approximately 250 students. We are very diverse with our population being roughly a third Caucasian, a third African-American, and a third Hispanic. Many of our students come from low-income families and single parent homes. This in no way deters their hardwork or their parents' drive to help them succeed.
I make it a priority to have every student in my classroom grow and succeed at their own pace. Currect educational research drive all my instruction.
