My students need a classroom library that reflects them. My students are a culturally diverse group who speak a variety of languages. Though my class is taught in English, these students deserve to see themselves in their classroom and not see their cultures or languages as "other". My goal is to represent authors of color, main characters of color and various languages in my classroom library as often or more so than English dominant materials. All of these books and games were either written by an author of color, feature main characters of color, or feature a non-dominant language. Furthermore, all materials were selected from by the groups they represent as culturally responsive texts.
