Soft Start is a time set aside in the classroom when students arrive to settle in before starting the rest of their day. Students are able to work individually or collaboratively as they choose between building, drawing, reading, or listening to a book. When students are provided 10 minutes at the start of the day, they are able to prepare their brains and be ready for a day of learning. They have enjoyed using the items I've collected and have been donated to us. As the year has gone on, I've noticed that they love to build together and listen to books. By adding a Listening Center and more building materials, they will have even more opportunities to start their day in a positive way.

About my class
