I am a kindergarten teacher in a Title I school. A majority of my students are eager to start school but unfortunately, do not have the supplies. I know that as a child I looked forward to picking out crayons and folders to start my first day of school. I would love to give them the supplies to become successful writers which is a challenge I faced last year.
These supplies will give them the opportunity to create pictures, letters, and stories that they will be able to share with their families. The journals will be used daily and the paper will help them learn how to properly write the alphabet. The writing utensils will give them the opportunity to write using pencils, markers, and colored pencils.
