The typical elementary student is wiggly and has a hard time remaining in a seat for an extended period of time. This difficulty is increased for the special education student who may already be dealing with a sensory processing disorder or issues with attention and lack of focus.
These cushions will help promote body engagement and give the child the sensory input that he or she needs to increase focus and be able to participate more actively in the reading or math lesson. The focus of the student will then be able to shift from trying to stay still, to learning something new!
